Ormo® Christmas Day Stuffing

Ingredients:

  • 250g Ormo Buttermilk Wheaten Bread, cut into 1cm cubes
  • 150g Ormo Soda Farls, cut into 1cm cubes
  • 60g unsalted butter
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 celery sticks, finely diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped or minced
  • 80g chestnuts, chopped
  • 40g dried cranberries
  • 1 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Method:

Preheat oven to 150°C (fan). Spread the cubes over trays and bake for 20–25 minutes, tossing halfway, until completely dry and lightly toasted.

In a large pan, melt the butter. Add onion, celery, and garlic; cook for 6–8 minutes until softened but not coloured. Stir in herbs, chestnuts, and cranberries, and season well.

3. In a large bowl, mix the dried bread cubes with the buttery onion mixture until evenly coated. Spread the mixture onto a lined baking tray and return to the oven at 180°C (fan) for 15–20 minutes, stirring once, until golden and crisp.

4. Tip into a warm serving dish and sprinkle with extra thyme or a few orange zest curls for a festive touch.
